CAMP JEANNE D’ARC GIVES BACK
Service Sunday is sure to become one of our most popular camp activities. Campers will spend an hour every Sunday thinking of others and giving back to our world.
Cancer Cap
Camp Jeanne d’Arc has reached out to the local Cancer Center in Plattsburgh, NY to offer a very special, handmade gift for their patients. Using a simple weaving loom and skein of yarn, we will knit soft, colorful caps for chemotherapy patients. At the end of the summer, our older campers will have the pleasure of delivering our donations. We know the patients at the Plattsburgh Cancer Center will appreciate the gift and the girls will feel great!
Support Our Troops
HeroBox sends custom care packages to American soldiers around the world. We want to help! Campers will be assembling care packages and including handmade thank you notes to tell our soldiers how much we appreciate their service. Let’s work as a team to say thank you to those who give so much!
Cozy Blankets
Camp Jeanne d’Arc has contacted a local shelter for mothers and small children. They are ecstatic by our offer to donate hand tied, fleece blankets. Our campers will work with their counselors to measure, cut and tie fleece fabric to create warm and cozy blankets for those in need. Who knew service could be so much fun!
Taking Care of Nature
We swoop into Camp Jeanne d’Arc every summer to enjoy the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. We want to say thank you to the native birds that share our summer home. We will get a little sticky as we make pinecone bird feeders for our feathered friends. We are sure to see many more of those delightful creatures this summer!
