A Well-Balanced Summer Camp Program

Our traditional, well-balanced summer camp program in New York offers the classic camp favorites, as well as a variety of daily “choice” activities, to ensure your daughter remains excited and challenged with a huge array of fun activities each and every day.

Here’s How Our Program Works

Mornings consist of 3 traditional camp activities. These are, year after year, our campers absolute favorites! Our girls look forward to starting their day with archery, rifle/BBs, waterfront activities, field sports, arts-and-crafts, and much more! These activities are scheduled so that each camper has an opportunity to try all of these super, fun activities here at camp.

Our afternoons at camp are all about CHOICES! We think the best overnight summer camps allow campers to have a say in what activities they love, and what skills they want to develop further! Several days a week campers will sign up at lunch for their preferred afternoon activities. These are smaller, and more specialized opportunities like baking, fitness training, guitar lessons, sailing, quiet time, bracelet making, clubs, drama, dance, fishing, etc. The really popular morning activities may also be offered again at choice activity time, for girls who cannot get enough of the classics!

This summer camp program structure is all about making sure that each camper is able to get excited about their favorite activities as well as making plenty of time for new ones! We know that every girl that comes to camp is different, and is looking forward to a unique set of experiences. It’s up to us to provide a diverse set of activities that challenge them but also satisfy their excitement for individual opportunities.

We also offer additional, optional activities for our girls to enjoy with specialized instruction, so that they are able to grow in skill over the course of their summer camp experience. These include water skiing, golf, horseback riding and motor trips to maintain one of the best overnight summer camps in New York!

TESTIMONIALS

Counselor Testimonial

I thought my job as a counselor would be to build relationships through deep conversations and a listening ear. While this isn’t wrong, the building blocks to get here are much smaller moments. It’s waiting for the girl that took an extra minute rolling out of bed in the morning, sharing easy laughs over lunch in the Hearth or taking the time to say goodnight to each girl and shut off the lights at the end of an exhausting day. These moments capture the loving and family-like feeling that a summer at Camp Jeanne d’arc inevitably provides. While singing campfire songs, diving into the lake or playing games on the field make JDA so lively and exciting, it is the girls building relationships, sharing stories and discovering new things about themselves that make their experience -and mine- so indescribably unique.
